Working at Chapter Eight allowed me to work with a wide range of clients and integrate with many third parties.
Projects at Chapter Eight included: developing Coca-Cola's multilingual, cross-European Share a Coke Summer and Christmas 2014 campaigns; enhancement of existing code to allow Sock Shop, Glenmuir and elinens to sell not only on Amazon's UK Marketplace but also across Europe and America; as well as the Charities Trust project, ensuring that they could process millions of pounds during their 'The Big Give' period.
These projects allowed me to create various solutions to different problems, such as using a binary file to process postcodes to take strain of a database, using Amazon CDN to increase web speed, and creating an API to allow mass volumes of reporting of millions of orders and abandoned baskets. Again, this API, used by Coca-Cola, was designed to limit strain to the ordering process.
The work for Chapter Eight had to ensure that any new work did not comprise the PCI DSS Level 1 Certificate the company held.
In my role as Software Engineer at Chapter Eight, I initiated a set of coding standards which were successful in being approved by senior management. In addition, I was also tasked with the leadership of development of support processes within the support team.
Freelance projects I have been involved in and university work.
